MELISSA
Melissa, a multi-instrumentalist and artist based in Salt Lake City, originally from the Boston area, has been drawn to performing from an early age. She transitioned to full-time music several years ago, bringing a unique background to her artistry, including a Masterβs in Soil Science and a decade of conservation work across the U.S. Melissaβs connection with nature influences her music, shaped by her experiences rock climbing, bikepacking, and advocating for the environment.
Now a dedicated musician, she performs with various Utah bands, teaches banjo, and manages the Trash Moon Collective, a program under Hot House West that nurtures local acoustic musicians. She has recorded three original albums since 2023 and is a recognized part of the acoustic community, contributing her expertise in banjo at Acoustic Music in SLC.
